The State spells out very clearly how the EP will be developed, the information to be included on it, and how the curriculum will be developed, based on the unique strengths of the individual student.
The EP is the basis for differentiating the curriculum. It provides choices for students to demonstrate mastery by providing for alternative delivery of grade level requirements, establishing an environment with flexibility in pacing, and one that is rich in motivational activities. The entire document provides a picture of who the child is, where he/she excels, and individual goals and outcomes which serve as a guide to develop differentiated curriculum to meet his/her needs.
