Observing a classroom of students engaging in learning, taking responsibility for their learning, and generating quality products to demonstrate mastery of their learning definitely justifies differentiated instruction.

The purpose of education is to learn new information and be able to apply it, synthesize it, and evaluate it. Differentiated instruction is the key.
